Who We're Looking For

Toyota's Integrated Vehicle Systems organization is developing next-generation vehicle technologies that enhance safety, connectivity, and the overall driving experience. We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated ADAS Applications Engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges while helping shape the future of mobility.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role is responsible for developing and applying Advanced Driver Assistance Systems technologies, including radar, sonar, and camera-based systems for vehicle-specific applications. This position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality ADAS solutions that support customer satisfaction, innovation, vehicle performance, and Toyota's commitment to future mobility advancements.

What You'll Be Doing

Success in this role means delivering high-quality ADAS applications that meet performance, quality, cost, and timing targets while helping create safer and more intuitive driving experiences. On a typical day, you will collaborate across engineering teams, suppliers, and global partners to develop and launch innovative technologies that support future vehicle programs.
  • Develop and implement ADAS components and systems through electrical interface definition, parameter calibration, and vehicle integration activities
  • Partner with design, evaluation, manufacturing, and project management teams to deliver solutions that meet vehicle performance, quality, cost, and development objectives
  • Lead product development activities through key project milestones while coordinating with suppliers and cross functional stakeholders to ensure successful execution
  • Create and maintain development schedules through start of production, proactively managing risks and recommending recovery actions to protect program targets
  • Investigate technical issues, support field concern resolution activities, and collaborate with engineering partners to develop effective countermeasures
  • Benchmark competitor vehicles, consumer electronics, and emerging technologies to generate innovative proposals that improve customer experience, performance, quality, and efficiency
  • Collaborate with engineering teams in North America and Japan to support the development and application of future ADAS technologies across vehicle programs
  • Participate in domestic and international evaluation, testing, and manufacturing activities while driving continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen team performance and product quality


What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline that provides a strong foundation in electronics and vehicle systems development
  • Experience supporting electronics or ADAS development through engineering projects, internships, co-op assignments, research programs, or professional engineering experience
  • Experience managing projects and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve milestones and deliver high-quality results
  • Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, engineering specifications, and electrical system documentation.
  • Knowledge of ADAS fundamentals, electrical circuitry, vehicle electrical architecture, and communication protocols such as CAN, CAN FD, LIN, CXPI, or similar technologies
  • Experience utilizing development quality tools such as DFMEA, DRBFM, FTA, or similar methodologies, along with a valid driving record and ability to operate company vehicles as required


Added Bonus If You Have
  • Experience using CATIA V5 or similar CAD platforms that support vehicle systems development and integration
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar technologies that support engineering analysis, testing, or automation activities
  • Experience developing wiring specifications using CR5000 or similar electrical architecture and wiring design tools
  • Knowledge of Toyota Business Practices or similar continuous improvement methodologies that strengthen problem solving and project execution
