Full Job Description
About the Role

Venturity is seeking an Engagement Director to serve as the executive relationship owner and strategic leader across complex client engagements.

This role sits at the center of our advisory model-ensuring that what we promise, deliver, and sustain for our clients is aligned, effective, and scalable. You will own the full client lifecycle, from onboarding through ongoing delivery, and ensure the engagement works end-to-end for both the client and the business.

This is not a traditional "client success" or account management role. This is a senior professional services leadership position focused on outcomes, alignment, and accountability.

What You'll Do

Own the Client Relationship
  • Serve as the senior relationship leader for assigned clients
  • Build trust with executive stakeholders and guide long-term alignment
  • Lead high-stakes conversations around expectations, priorities, scope, and performance
  • Stabilize and strengthen relationships when complexity or tension arises

Own the Engagement Outcome
  • Ensure alignment between what was sold and what is delivered
  • Monitor engagement health across delivery, communication, scope, and economics
  • Identify risks early and lead proactive course correction
  • Maintain a clear view of whether the overall model is working

Orchestrate Across the Lifecycle
  • Partner with Business Development before close to ensure continuity
  • Act as a strategic validator during onboarding and implementation
  • Lead transition from implementation to ongoing delivery with clarity and alignment

Drive Accountability Across Teams
  • Align Implementation Directors, Controllers, CFOs, and Operations around shared outcomes
  • Ensure ownership is clear and commitments are met
  • Step in when work, expectations, or communication drift off track
  • Reduce the need for leadership intervention by owning resolution

Protect the Business
  • Maintain awareness of engagement economics, scope, and sustainability
  • Address scope creep and misalignment proactively
  • Balance exceptional client experience with strong business outcomes

What You Own (and What You Don't)

You own:
  • Client relationships, health and trust
  • Delivery outcomes and alignment
  • Transition quality across phases
  • Scope integrity and economic health
  • Resolution of issues that impact the client experience

You do not own:
  • Technical accounting execution
  • Day-to-day delivery management
  • Replacing Controllers, CFOs, or Implementation Directors

You ensure the work works-you don't do the work.

What Success Looks Like
  • Clients feel clarity, consistency, and confidence across the lifecycle
  • Transitions are smooth, with no loss of context or momentum
  • Risks are identified and addressed early-not escalated late
  • Engagements remain aligned to scope, expectations, and value delivered
  • Leadership is pulled into fewer reactive situations
  • Teams operate with clear ownership and accountability

Who You Are

You are a steady, high-accountability leader who thrives in complex environments where success depends on alignment, follow-through, and judgment.
  • Build trust quickly with executives and senior stakeholders
  • Are comfortable leading difficult, high-stakes conversations
  • Bring structure, clarity, and follow-through to complex situations
  • Think in systems, outcomes, and long-term impact
  • Balance client advocacy with business discipline
  • Step in when something is off and take ownership of fixing it
  • Are energized by maintaining and improving long-term relationships

You are not purely a visionary or a transactional operator, you are someone who ensures things actually work.

Experience
  • 8+ years in professional services, consulting, finance leadership, or client advisory roles
  • Proven experience owning senior-level client relationships
  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder engagements
  • Strong business and financial acumen (budgets, margin, engagement health)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across cross-functional teams

Relevant backgrounds may include:
  • Former CFO or Controller in a client-facing environment
  • Senior consultant or engagement leader
  • Professional services leader managing complex client portfolios

Why Venturity

Venturity is building a more intentional, advisory-driven client model, one where ownership is clear, outcomes are measurable, and clients experience a coordinated, high-value partnership.

The Engagement Director role is central to that vision.

If you're looking for a role where you can:
  • Operate at the intersection of strategy, delivery, and client leadership
  • Own outcomes, not just activity
  • Influence on how a firm scales its client experience

...this is that role.

You'll join a talented, supportive team and enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including:
  • Competitive salary and benefits (medical, dental, 401(k), PTO)
  • Monthly CPE-eligible training on emerging accounting topics
  • Career growth in a fast-growing, people-focused firm
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) eligibility on day 1
