Full Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the Power Systems (PS) product line. The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing and engineering operations by ensuring product and process quality meet rigorous standards. This role focuses on identifying and resolving defects, analyzing trends, leading root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations, and fostering continuous improvement.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Facilitate RCCA with robust Corrective and Preventative Actions
- Analyze quality metrics to provide data-driven insights and support continuous improvement
- Protect PS from shipping nonconforming material
- Part issue investigation/ Coordination with SQE (Supplier Quality Engineering)
- Hardware Dispositions
- Operator Feedback
- FAI (First Article Inspection)
- Inspections
- Action tracking and closure
- Audit support
Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's Degree and 2-6 years of related experience or 6-10 years of engineering experience in lieu of degree
- Experience/knowledge of root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
- Ability to mine data and visually display; metric trending
- Experience reviewing technical documents and standards
Preferred Skills and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field
- Mechanical background with an understanding of electrical components and Circuit Card Assemblies
- Experience with Oracle systems, FLX factory Logix, PowerBI and/or Apex
- Experience with the control and disposition of non-conforming material
- Familiarity with IPC J-STD-001 Standard Soldering Requirements
- Experience with APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and/or MSA
- Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment
