Job Description

We are looking for an Expert Cloud Systems Engineer to lead a team of Engineers on a technology-based program supporting a key government customer. This program will deliver engineering services for network infrastructure as well as sophisticated enterprise computing infrastructure including end-point devices, cloud services as well as virtualized applications, and storage systems. Enterprise Computing Engineering services include modern application technology including containerized solutions with orchestrated workflow that function in the Cloud. Network infrastructure engineering services are comprised of core infrastructure, field engineering, application management and development for networks, network analytics, firewalls, network access controls and bandwidth service delivery. This is a fast paced, challenging, and career rewarding experience to recruit and develop provide top talent and solutions on one of the most complex and high-profile programs within the government customer community.

Responsibilities include:
  • Leading a team of 15-20 Engineers
  • Partner with the Program Manager, Deputy PM, and Chief Architect to ensure smooth program execution, strong team building, defending work share and growing scope.
  • Responsible for providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary design teams in the design, development, fielding, and support of the system.
  • Represent the technical team to project managers, PTLs, functions and executive leadership.
  • Responsible for developing the overall technical solution for a product or system.
  • Decision authority between the System Architect and entire engineering team and is responsible for developing the overall technical solution for the system.
  • Influences system design, development, test, and verification.
  • Responsible for identifying and communicating technical risks and opportunities between the design team, system architect and program management team.
  • Ensures design to Cost is part of the overall solution. Performs as the technical POC to the customer in support of the PM and PTL.
  • Performs system design, technical performance, and other system needs, provide technical stewardship of the engineering effort for the entire program ensuring the solution meets customer programmatic and technical requirements within the allocated engineering cost and schedule

Required Skills and Education

We are actively seeking candidates with bachelor's or master's Degree in a STEM program and a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience.
  • Active Security + (or certification to meet DODD 8140)
  • 10+ years' experience in support of a government customer
  • 11 years of technology development experience
  • Experience leading successful engineering teams
  • Expertise working with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), test automation and / or DevSecOps on iterative development projects
  • Experience developing and overseeing implementation of technology investment plans in support of modernization and technology advancement strategies
  • Experience developing technology roadmaps in support of technology modernization planning
  • Experience managing technology development programs/projects to achieve cost, schedule, and technical performance expectations
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders across the organization to achieve technology development and program strategic objectives
  • Lead and oversee a total system perspective including technical understanding of relationships, dependencies and requirements of cloud, on premise, and hybrid services, infrastructure and security domains
  • Expert troubleshooting and solutioning skills
  • Solid engineering rigor
  • Ability to accurately solution and document complex infrastructures, System level integration and test of systems and subsystems
  • System verification and validation
  • Definition of system specifications, design, integration approach, and hardware/software compatibility
  • Preparation, installation, and maintenance of system components
  • Post-install and post-upgrade system analysis and reporting
  • Creation and updates of technical documentation
  • Virtualization experience (VDI)
  • Significant AWS Cloud experience
  • Experience with ElasticSearch for search and analytics

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Familiarity with Digital Model Based Engineering (MBSE)
  • Integration of virtualized applications and application streaming or layering techniques
  • Developing integration interface across PowerShell, JAVA, .NET, C++, python and similar platforms
