Job DescriptionOur Need: Creative and innovative engineers with prior embedded software engineering experience who can design and develop innovative security solutions on the most complex processors.
BAE Systems is currently seeking creative, innovative problem solvers to be part of a system security engineering focused group. In a modern approach to "Spy vs Spy," BAE Systems uses state-of-the-art technology, advanced mathematics, and physics in novel ways to protect our systems and provide our customers with capability that endures. Our engineers design solutions that achieve the optimum balance between product capability and defense-in-depth security. They apply all the lessons learned to our model-based design approach and frequently advance security state-of-the-art. They take their creative and innovative spirit to the extreme by playing the part of adversary through their identification of attack vectors. They propose countermeasures that provide the greatest protection at the best value for the system's entire lifecycle.
BAE Systems is seeking creative, innovative problem solvers, specifically those with an embedded software engineering background who are able to analyze assess, anticipate, defend and react to current and future attacks. Candidates should be capable of working in a multi-discipline team environment to design and implement innovative protection schemes with rapidly evolving technologies used in various applications throughout the company.
Our Systems Engineers do a lot of amazing things, but for this role in particular you will:
- Design and implement security architectures on complex processors based on requirements from your analysis of adversary threats and proposed countermeasures.
- Implement and test embedded software according to the guidance provided by the U.S. Government
- Work with Security State of the Art (S-SOTA) technologies.
- Provide our customers with sophisticated, defense-in-depth security solutions.
- Work with NIST cryptographic algorithms
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

- Defining embedded software architectures
- Integrating software on complex processors
Technical leadership of a software development Team
Preferred Skills and EducationWe are very interested in candidates with any of the following experience:
- Cryptographic algorithm implementation
- Configuring security features of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) S-SOTA components
- Embedded software development on complex processors
