Description & Requirements

Manage all phases of capital and expense projects from development through execution, including distribution of final project documentation. Provide technical support for Maintenance and Operations activities and support general mill goals for safety, environmental and other concerns.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop, manage and execute multiple capital and maintenance projects simultaneously.
  • Individual project responsibilities include design, scope development, estimation, scheduling and construction management.
  • Develop and evaluate alternatives to meet long-term goals while coordinating and collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement and Legal teams.
  • Develop a comprehensive Project Execution Plan that includes design, risk mitigation, budget and scheduling.
  • Work with Procurement and Legal partners to develop detailed specifications, bid, evaluate, select and award projects.
  • Manage third party vendors including construction contractors, equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, technical experts and construction managers.
  • Work with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and process area operational and maintenance owners to develop a pre-startup safety review (PSSR) to guide each project's check-out and start-up plan.
  • Submit completed PSSR in advance of start-up.
  • Utilize project controls during the execution of capital projects including estimating, scheduling, cash flow forecasting and reporting,
  • Develop and manage facilities infrastructure maintenance programs.
  • Supply technical expertise for mechanical equipment failure analysis and preservation.
  • Prepare, review and update mill specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise to review and approve "management of change" proposals.
  • Support and participate in all mill safety and environmental initiatives and activities

• Assist in the attainment of general mill goals by serving on special teams or supplying teams with necessary technical support.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Five or more years related experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Paper industry experience preferred.
