Energy Optimization Engineer

What You'll Do...
As an Optimization Engineer, you will contribute to the design, evaluation, and enhancement of facilities and infrastructure supporting U.S. military and DoD operations. You will work cross-functionally with engineering teams, contracting, finance, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure projects meet mission objectives and align with federal requirements. Your responsibilities include analyzing facility performance, developing design improvements, supporting construction activities, and coordinating across disciplines to optimize project scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
Key Responsibilities & Expected Outcomes
- Apply engineering principles to assess, design, and improve DoD-related facilities and infrastructure systems.
- Support construction activities with technical expertise, ensuring compliance with federal and military standards.
- Collaborate effectively with contracting, finance, engineering teams, contractors, and government stakeholders to drive project success.
- Manage and track project milestones, deliverables, risks, and quality standards across multidisciplinary efforts.
- Recommend structural, mechanical, electrical, or architectural optimizations based on mission needs and facility evaluations.
- Provide clear documentation, reporting, and communication to support decision-making and project alignment.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a technical discipline such as Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, or Architecture.
- Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience supporting U.S. military or DoD facilities.
- Proven experience in design, facility optimization, and construction-related engineering activities.
- Demonstrated success working across multiple organizational functions, including contracting, engineering, finance, and external stakeholders.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, if required for the role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Advanced degree in a related engineering discipline.
- Experience: Prior experience with structural facility requirements or facility performance optimization.
- Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) registration (desirable but not required).
