Job DescriptionEnergy Modeler Specialist Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA, Austin, TX Denver, CO, Austin or Dallas, TX, Maitland, Miami, or Fort Lauderdale, FLIn this role, you will be a part of the Sustainability Sector, based in our US offices and have the opportunity to work on the energy modeling across our US and Canada projects.
What a day at EXP has in store for you- Modeling building architecture and engineered Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems in selected Energy Modeling Software (technical knowledge of both simple and complex system modeling knowledge required)
- Analyzing Energy and Water Conservation Measures to inform design decisions for buildings and sites.
- Authoring narratives and reports for clients outlining measures to improve energy and water efficiencies for projects
- Coordinating design recommendations with Owner, Architects and Engineers
- Reviewing Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil and Landscape drawings to confirm measures have been implemented in Design and Construction Documents
- Full documentation of the LEED Energy and Atmosphere Minimum Energy Performance prerequisite and Optimize Energy Performance Credit
- Determining renewable energy system sizing based on results from the energy model
- Review of trended energy and water data for model calibrations 1 year post occupancy
What your experience looks like- 10+ years previous experience in energy modeling for LEED or code compliance (including Title 24)
- Knowledge of energy modeling software, including, at minimum, IES Virtual Environment (5 + years), eQuest and Energy Pro
- EIT or PE is preferred
The salary range for this role is $110,000 to $130,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location.
