Energy Innovation Consultant to support and lead innovative utility solutions focused on beneficial electrification, demand-side management, energy resource planning, and emerging technologies. This role combines technical expertise, analytical problem-solving, and client-focused consulting to help utilities navigate the evolving energy landscape. Preferred to have someone in a hybrid role based out of our Madison, Wisconsin or Arden Hills, MN offices.
What You Will Be Doing:- Embrace, uphold, and live out PSE's core values around People, Problem-Solving, and Progress.
- Lead and support energy innovation projects focused on demand-side management, beneficial electrification, renewable energy, distributed energy resources, and utility planning.
- Develop economic, financial, and feasibility analyses to support client decision-making and strategic recommendations.
- Create and evaluate cost-benefit models for energy programs, technologies, and utility initiatives.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, develop forecasts, and provide actionable insights.
- Support clients in evaluating emerging technologies, resource options, and innovative utility solutions.
- Develop recommendations related to energy programs, customer engagement strategies, rates, and operational improvements.
- Manage project tasks, schedules, budgets, and deliverables while collaborating with internal teams and clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, presentations, and technical expertise.
- Support business development efforts through proposals, presentations, and identifying opportunities to expand PSE's energy innovation services.
- Utilize analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel, R, RStudio, Python, and Power BI to analyze and communicate complex data.
What You Will Need:Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree (BS or BA) from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 5+ years of experience in utilities, energy consulting, economics, financial analysis, data analytics, or related fields, ideally within a professional services or consulting environment.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while completing work on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and manipulate data into usable formats.
- Experience with R, RStudio, Python, or other data analytics tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of electric utility systems and an interest in energy innovation, data analytics, and emerging technologies is a plus.
Compensation:- Salary Range: $96,034 - $136,752 annually.
This salary range reflects the anticipated base salary of
five to twenty years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's relevant years of experience, education, and technical expertise.
