Job Description

As an Advanced Project Engineer - Supplier Development for the Electronics Value Stream, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Electronics suppliers & corresponding platforms. You will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships with suppliers, managing their performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and supply chain efficiency and resiliency.

You will report directly to our Director of Supplier Development, and you'll work remotely supporting primarily Northeast US suppliers, along with other locations.

In this role, you will impact our supplier development by bringing your extensive expertise and experience to our organization. You will play a critical role in driving supplier performance and ensuring that our suppliers meet the highest quality standards. Your contributions directly impact our organization's operational excellence and overall success.

The ideal candidate will reside in one of the Northeast states within an hour drive from an airport.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier Capability Assessment: Evaluate the capabilities of electronic component suppliers and support the transition of hardware from development to production.
  • Quality Improvement Plans: Conduct supplier risk assessments and implement targeted quality improvement plans specific to electronic component manufacturing processes.
  • Performance Management: Lead and participate in capacity assessment exercises, driving supplier performance by establishing clear metrics and performance expectations related to electronic components.
  • Operational Excellence: Partner with Suppliers toLead and support OPEX projects enabling improvements in product flow / throughput, lead time reduction, & yield.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that electronic component suppliers comply with quality management systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, New Product Introduction, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to resolve supplier-related issues and improve overall supply chain performance.
  • Travel up to 50% domestically and rarely internationally.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering and / or supplier development with a focus on Printed Wiring Boards and / or other electrical component production / design / engineering / NPI.
  • Proficiency in quality management and problem-solving tools, including Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and/or Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP/PPAP).
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards and practices related to electronics components / PWB manufacturing.

WE VALUE
  • Aerospace, Electrical or Electronics engineering degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of supplier development strategies, supplier relationship management, and quality control
  • Ability to work effectively across borders and engage with diverse teams.
  • Experience with project management and Kaizen facilitation
  • Familiarity with Total Preventative Maintenance, asset management for downtime reduction, critical spare parts, and CAPEX proposals.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial acumen
  • 2+ years of leadership and team management experience
  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Green or Black Belt Certification(s) in Lean / Six Sigma

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The annual base salary range for this position is $127K - $158K. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
