Full Job Description
ERG is seeking an Energetics Manufacturing Engineer to support energetics manufacturing operations and engineering activities. We are looking for a motivated engineer with strong technical expertise and a proven background in manufacturing environments.

This is a fulltime position at the Naval Support Facility (NSF) Indian Head. Indian Head, MD, is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA.

Job Description:

  • Support the development, evaluation, and improvement of energetics manufacturing processes and production operations
  • Analyze energetics manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, reliability, safety, and throughput
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to equipment, materials, processes, and manufacturing operations
  • Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, process documentation, specifications, and engineering documentation
  • Support process development, testing, validation, and implementation of manufacturing improvements
  • Review production data and process performance to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production delays, material or part quality issues, equipment breakdowns, and other manufacturing challenges
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and documentation align with applicable engineering, quality, safety, and customer requirements
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide engineering support to manufacturing operations
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other engineering deliverables


Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • At least 2 years of professional engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Experience working in a DoD, Navy, explosives, energetics, chemical processing, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Experience supporting, developing, improving, or troubleshooting manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, process documentation, and technical data
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, production, and technical personnel
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
  • Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations


$100,000 - $140,000 a year
