Position SummaryThe Endoscopy Center Nurse Director coordinates and directs all daily activities and personnel of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The ASC is located in Oxford, North Carolina and consists of two procedure rooms primarily for colonoscopies. The Nurse Director ensures compliance with state, federal and ACHC compliance regulations and directs successful achievement of same. The Nurse Director attends to the immediate needs of members of the medical staff, ensuring availability of equipment, instrumentation and supplies necessary for delivery of safe surgical care.
The Nurse Director follows the facility's standards for ethical business conduct and is a positive role model and team member interacting with others in a respectful and considerate manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Ensures compliance in state, federal and ACHC compliance regulations and successful achievement of same.
- Verifies life safety and security of building premises ensuring safe working conditions for staff, patients & guests.
- Evaluates Quality Outcomes Monitoring; identifies trending and opportunities for improvement with action plans.
- Implements adequate staffing for all areas and monitors productivity. This includes recruiting and onboarding.
- Oversees the intake, operating and recovery rooms to ensure appropriateness of staff assignments and patient flow.
- Promotes concurrent completion of tasks required to comply with state and federal regulations and accreditation standards as well as center policies and procedures and standards.
- Ensures full compliance of the environment of care, including temperature, cleanliness, sterility, operational ability, ventilation, lighting, etc.
- Possesses exceptional communication skills and situational awareness.
- Conducts self as a positive role model and team member.
- Recognizes patients' rights and responsibilities and supports them in performance of job duties.
- Is familiar with managed care contracts, expected reimbursements and billing and collection practices.
- Establishes scheduling practices which maximize OR access, compress case management, and/or improve efficiencies.
- Negotiates and obtains agreements from vendors providing supportive services.
Qualifications- Registered Nurse, holding active licensure in state of residence.
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing, business and/or healthcare.
- Masters' degree in healthcare administration or nursing administration preferred.
- Certification in Ambulatory Surgery Center (CASC) required within 18 months of hire.
- 3 years minimum of previous management experience in outpatient (ambulatory) surgical industry required.
