Opportunity Overview

The Senior Commodity Manager - EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) plays a critical role in leading strategic supplier relationships and driving commercial outcomes across Teradyne's Electronics Manufacturing Services supply base, including Zollner, DIS Tech, and engineering design service providers. This role is responsible for end-to-end supplier management across cost, capacity, quality, and long-term sourcing strategy throughout the product lifecycle.

The position also owns commercial strategy and engagement for engineering design services, ensuring Teradyne is effectively supported and contractually protected in these partnerships. The ideal candidate will serve as a key interface between Teradyne and its suppliers, driving measurable improvements in cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and operational performance while aligning supplier capabilities to business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic EMS supplier relationships, including Zollner, DIS Tech, and engineering design service providers, through executive engagement and governance.
  • Develop and execute commodity strategies that align cost, capacity, and technology roadmaps with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Program Management to support new product introduction and production execution.
  • Build and negotiate commercial agreements, including pricing, contracts, and long-term supplier arrangements.
  • Support supply continuity through capacity planning, risk mitigation, and supplier performance management across cost, quality, delivery, technology, and responsiveness.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to enable sourcing decisions that improve scalability, dual sourcing, and lifecycle risk mitigation.
  • Mentor and guide supplier development, qualification, and issue resolution activities to strengthen long-term supplier capabilities.
  • Ensure senior leadership has clear, data-driven updates on supplier performance, risks, and opportunities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, or supplier management within a technology-driven environment.
  • Strong experience managing complex supplier relationships and leading commercial negotiations.
  • Demonstrated capability in driving cost reduction, supplier performance improvement, and supply continuity.
  • Proven cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with EMS/contract manufacturing suppliers and/or engineering design service providers.
  • Semiconductor or electronics industry experience is preferred.
  • Background in contract development, supplier qualification, and lifecycle risk mitigation is preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and executive-level communication skills.
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA, MS in Supply Chain, or Engineering is a plus.


We are only considering candidates local to the position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $112,700 - $179,400. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
