  • Design optimization models for energy arbitrage and grid-service participation
  • Collaborate with Cloud/DevOps teams to deploy EMS using Azure DevOps CI/CD
  • Support commissioning of demo microgrid and manage field tuning and KPI tracking

Full Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• Architect the Delta EMS platform: dispatch engine, SOC scheduler, ancillary services, market

interfaces (ISO/RTO, FERC 2023), and DCIM hooks for data-center customers.
• Define EMS requirements, data contracts, and APIs between own the workload-aware dispatch logic for PUE/SLA-driven sites
• Lead vendor shadow program - capture algorithms, drive IP transfer, and ensure source escrow /co-development clauses are exercised
• Design optimization models (MILP / MPC) for energy arbitrage, demand-charge management, and grid-services participation in PJM, NYISO, ISO-NE, MISO, CAISO, ERCOT
• Partner with Cloud/DevOps to deploy EMS via Azure DevOps CI/CD with secure remote-ops, OTA updates, and NERC CIP / IEC 62443 controls
• Support the Detroit demo microgrid commissioning and the first C&I commercial deployment; own field tuning and post-deployment KPI tracking

Minimum Qualifications
• BS/MS in Electrical, Power Systems, Computer Science, Operations Research, or related field; 4+ years (Staff: 10+) in EMS, optimization, or grid software
• Hands-on experience with at least one commercial EMS platform
• Strong programming in Python and/or C#/.NET or Java; SQL and time-series databases (InfluxDB, Pi, TimescaleDB)
• Knowledge of microgrid economics, BESS dispatch, PV forecasting, and US wholesale market constructs
• Familiarity with IEEE [redacted], IEEE 2030.7/2030.8 (microgrid controllers), and DNP3 / Modbus TCP / IEC 61850 data flows
• Data-center workload coordination (PUE, SLA, AI training schedules) and DCIM integration
• Exposure to 800 VDC AI-optimized power distribution architectures
