You have: - Post-secondary education in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- 5 years of experience in human resources, with 3 years specializing in employee and labour relations role within a broader public sector agency and/or medium to large sized private or public corporation with unionized workforces
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, collective agreements, and labour relations frameworks
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with union representatives, employees, and management
- Conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, flexible and able to work in a high performing work environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally to head office and field offices across Ontario as needed
Nice to have: - Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader (CHRP/L) designation
What you will do: - Develop and administer the grievance management process, including mediation, arbitration procedures, and negotiation of settlements
- Lead investigations of employee misconduct and provide guidance on corrective actions
- Advise managers on the implementation, interpretation, and application of Employee and Labour Relations policies, legislation, and collective agreements
- Facilitate mediation sessions to resolve workplace conflicts and build positive working relationships
- Collaborate with union representatives and participate in union-management committee meetings
- Support collective bargaining preparation and negotiations alongside senior management
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation for employee and labour relations, health and safety, and WSIB matters, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and legislative requirements
- Implement and oversee health and safety programs, including Joint Health & Safety Committees and ergonomics, while managing accident reporting, WSIB compliance, and related records
- Provide backup support for leave management and disability claims processes as needed
- Monitor compliance with labour laws, regulations, and collective agreements, and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Provide guidance on workplace accommodations and return-to-work plans
- Track metrics, analyze trends, and provide insights to inform policy improvements and proactive strategies
- Undertake other duties as assigned
