Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Employee Recog and Events Spec.

In this role, the successful candidate provides hands-on coordination and execution of NYU Langone Health's employee recognition programs and events, creating meaningful experiences that celebrate employees and strengthen engagement across the health system. Carries significant ownership of Long Island recognition events, serving as lead coordinator for milestone celebrations, Family Fun Events, and Blood Drives across the Long Island campuses. Supports the Employee Awards Program (nominations, categories, selection, and recipient celebration) and the Awardco recognition platform (everyday recognition, monitoring the posts, creating and managing inventory of GIFs, acting as an SME for the platform, running reports and analytics ). Manages event logistics, vendor relationships, budgeting, and communications for signature programs, working closely with the Recognition Manager and recognition and events leadership team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and coordinate Family Fun Events in alignment with senior leadership's vision and objectives across campuses/locations.
  • Compile and maintain Qualtrics surveys, recognition program data, metrics, and scorecard information to help assess program effectiveness ( ie Family Fun Events) and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Draft, create and distribute event and monthly recognition days communications through JungleMail.
  • Monitors cases in Salesforce that come through for the employee appreciation mailbox to ensure timely and accurate responses. Updating Communications and FAQs as needed and entering them into salesforce.
  • Plan and oversee the Long Island Service Awards Dinner from concept through execution. Support all of the service awards events across campuses.
  • Coordinate all event vendors, including the venue, DJ, florist, photographer, photo booth, transportation and name tag production.
  • Manage event contracts, ensuring all agreements are fulfilled and invoices are processed prior to each event.
  • Prepare the Recognition budget, finance event approval form and documentation for all recognition events.
  • Maintain and update the Recognition Platform with event photos following each program. Inclusive of monitoring posts, creating and managing inventory of GIFs, acting as an SME for the platform, determining posts to pin, running reports and analytics.
  • Lead and coordinate the Adopt-a-Family program for the Long Island campus.
  • Organize and schedule Blood Drives for the Long Island campus and annually track employee participation to identify donors eligible for recognition, including those who qualify for a day off after donating three or more times.
  • Support the roll-out of NYULH's Employee Appreciation Month initiative and the annual Appreciation Gift programs.
  • Source, develop, and maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiate competitive pricing and favorable contract terms while ensuring successful event execution.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including HRAT, Supply Chain, Communications, MCIT, and other stakeholders, to support successful planning and execution of recognition initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining the annual recognition and appreciation event calendar, including coordination of key dates, deadlines, logistics, and senior leader participation as needed.
  • Participate in Social Spaces monthly road shows across campuses.
  • Support the Recognition Manager with day-to-day operations, special projects, and other assigned responsibilities.Schedule and support recognition planning meetings, prepare meeting notes, and track follow-up items through completion.
  • Communicate effectively with senior executives and organizational leaders in both formal meetings and event settings.


Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Strong communication (oral and written) skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Human Resources, recognition, or events-related role.
Experience with recognition platforms (e.g., Awardco) or event vendor/contract management.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
