Manager, Employee & Labour Relations Full-time 37.5 hours per week The position: Reporting to the Director, Labour Relations and Human Resources, the Manager, Employee and Labour Relations is responsible for providing leadership and operational oversight of Human Resources programs, services, and administrative functions. The position partners with organizational leaders to support labour and employee relations, workforce planning, employee engagement, talent management, and strategic initiatives. The Manager fosters a collaborative, service-oriented Human Resources team environment while upholding the vision, mission, values, goals and objectives of Perley Health.
Key responsibilities: - Provides leadership and guidance to a team of Human Resources professionals
- Coaches leaders and administrators in conflict management and maintains positive workplace relationships and constructive union-management relations
- Monitors and evaluates Human Resources metrics to identify areas for improvement
- Provides guidance on workplace accommodations and disability management
- Contributes to creating a positive employee experience by championing initiatives and projects that enhance employee engagement, well-being, attendance, and retention
- Supports grievance resolution process including conducting research, writing grievance replies, preparing memoranda of settlements.
- Reviews and advises on disciplinary matters including termination letters, and related documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Supports collective bargaining process including conducting research, writing bargaining proposals, costing bargaining proposals, and maintaining collective bargaining records.
Required qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources Management, Psychology, or other relevant specialization;
- A minimum of five years of experience in Employee and Labour Relations in a unionized workplace is required (health care sector strongly preferred);
- Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience, including staff supervision, coaching and performance management.
- Extensive knowledge of the areas of expertise listed above;
- Significant experience in conflict management and dispute resolution; and
- CHRP is an asset.
Salary Range: $95,176 - $118,970
