Summary

This position is located in the Human Resources Division, Arlington, VA.

The selectee of this position serves as a Employee Health Programs Manager. You will be responsible for directing and managing the USMS Employee Medical, Fitness-for-Duty, Workers Compensation, and the Drug Free Workplace Programs.

As a Employee Health Programs Manager at the GS-0601-14 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:

- Exercises full supervisory responsibility over subordinate positions.

- Develops and implements health/medical program policies and procedures and ensures compliance with all Federal, Department of Justice (DOJ), and USMS regulations.

- Providing expert advice and guidance to agency management on the Employee Medical Programs, Fitness for-Duty, Limited Duty, Drug Free Workplace and Workers Compensation Program issues.

- Continually appraises the assigned programs to ascertain if they are operating effectively and efficiently, and, if necessary, effects changes and improvements.

Qualifications

GS-14 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).

You may qualify at the GS-0601-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you possess BOTH the Basic Requirement AND Specialized Experience requirements outlined below:

Basic Requirement: You possess a Bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited institution with a major in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences (Must submit transcripts).

AND

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability:

1. Applying regulations and procedures to advise on or resolve health related matters dealing with employees that have job-related medical requirements;

2. Planning, directing, and leading work for others by establishing priorities and assigning work;

3. Managing medical cases within medical programs (e.g., medical standards); and

4. Representing an organization with external organizations and/or agencies.
