Summary

Information Technology Division - Arlington, VA

The selectee of this position serves as a Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Security). You will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified and/or unclassified systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.

As a Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Security) at the GS-2210- 14 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Providing expert cyber related and technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to USMS management.
  • Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices.
  • Preparing and maintaining detailed technical, project planning, and management documentation concerning computer security projects.
  • Advising and interacting with executive level officials.

Qualifications

GS-14 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).

You may qualify at the GS-2210-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

Specialized Experience: Must have one year (52 weeks) of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal service performing the following duties:

1. Providing technical advice, guidance, and assistance on critical IT security issues;

2. Managing a secure IT program consistent with organizational guidelines and standards;

3. Applying knowledge of the principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify, design, and manage secure enterprise requirements; and

4. Preparing and maintaining detailed technical, project planning, and management documentation concerning computer security projects and the computer security portions of systems development projects.

Basic Requirement:
In addition to the Specialized Experience above, you must meet the basic requirements for the Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 as described below.

A. You must have Information Technology related experience demonstrating each of the following required competencies, and must meet or exceed the *minimum proficiency level for each (Please see section Minimum Proficiency Level):
