Applicants must be within driving distance to our Atlanta, GA office to be considered for this role and have the ability to commute to the office a minimum of three days per week.

A day in the life.

As an Employee Health & Benefits Senior Client Relationship Executive, you will:
  • The Senior Client Relationship Executive will be capable of performing the following major accountabilities in an exemplary fashion with minimal to no supervision. Serve as consultative point of contact for the client; identify and understand client needs and provide recommendations with supporting rationale with limited or no oversight from the Producer. May handle all aspects of the client relationships.
  • Develop and execute, as directed, a comprehensive client service plan for all assigned accounts that address their business needs and risk management goals.
  • Partner with the producer in sales efforts, including responding to Requests for Proposals, participating in prospect meetings, and selling additional lines and endorsements that enhance coverage and meet the needs of the client.
  • Direct and lead quarterly meetings, mid-reviews and annual stewardship meetings.
  • Responsible for driving the renewal, marketing and financial reporting process including preparing meetings.
  • Create or review financial reporting packages, marketing material, carrier quotes and all meeting material prior to meeting with the client.
  • Build and cultivate key client and carrier relationships by phone, email, and in person.
  • Continuously expand a working knowledge of the current marketplace and capabilities of providing alternatives for the transfer of risk.
  • Demonstrate strong skills at negotiating pricing, policy conditions, reporting and terms with the selected carriers, and decide the best carrier(s) for the client within marketing guidelines.
  • Provide analyses and recommendations of coverage needs by developing initial marketing and renewal strategies leading the execution of marketing and renewal strategies, working with service team members and directing communications with carrier underwriters and other carrier representatives as required.
  • Must be able to present coverage, renewal recommendations and financial impact to the client.
  • Assist assigned clients and teammates with service questions related to administration, billing, claims issues, and problem solving, upon request.
  • Collaborate and work closely with local and national leadership to drive Line of Business strategy and initiatives as well as promote and drive utilization of best practices.
  • Coordinate with service team and clients to schedule and conduct team meetings.
  • Understand and utilize the client management system(s), ImageRight, and other relevant technology platforms per the documentation expectations outlined in Employee Benefits Procedures.
  • Ensure service team procedures are appropriate and followed and documentation and premium amounts are accurate, and assist in the collection of premium payments as needed.
  • Effectively resolve workflow issues.
  • Attend seminars, classes, and carrier meetings to keep abreast of new products available for clients and acquire expertise in legislative changes.
  • Lead, mentor, and train other account service teammates, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and professional relationship building skills.
  • Other job duties and responsibilities as requested by management.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or related experience
  • Eight years of relevant insurance industry experience
  • Appropriate insurance license(s)
  • Significant knowledge of markets, policies and coverage issues for all states and industries serviced
  • Organizational skills to plan and prioritize team workload, and to oversee application of work flows and procedures
  • Leadership skills and service and team orientation to provide direction, praise, constructive feedback, and development to employees in a way that maximizes productivity and team morale
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive business relationships with clients, market contacts, and McGriff teammates
  • Strong persuasion skills and tact to obtain information, negotiate with markets, obtain commitment or payments due from others, and motivate staff
  • Discretion and problem solving skills to analyze client information, proposal competitiveness, etc., and to resolve client, market and employee relations problems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel
  • Advanced degree(s)
  • Insurance industry certifications in addition to necessary license(s)
  • Significant prior experience leading teams and/or projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills
