Full Job Description
Job Title: Employee Development Director of Training
Employment Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Role
Location: Hybrid - Atlanta, GA (USA)
Reports To: Chief People Officer
Travel: Regular travel required (leadership offsites, regional team engagements, and cross-regional development programs)
Industry: Technology Consulting / Digital ServicesAbout the Role
Kopius is seeking an Employee Development Director of Training to lead our organization's approach to professional development, learning, and capability building across every area of the company. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role owns how Kopius grows its people - from individual contributors through senior leaders - across our full portfolio of teams: Engineering, Delivery, Solutions, Sales, Marketing, Recruiting, People, and Operations.
This is a strategic, hands-on role for someone who can design and execute development programs at scale while adapting them to the specific realities of a global, multi-region technology consulting business. You will build the frameworks, programs, and rituals that help our 500+ professionals across the U.S., LATAM, and Europe grow into their next role - and you will partner directly with area leaders to make sure development is embedded into how each team operates.
The role is based in a hybrid arrangement out of our Atlanta, GA office or from Latin America, and includes regular travel across regions to engage directly with teams, leaders, and development programs where they happen. The ideal candidate combines strong L&D expertise with an operator's instinct - able to move between strategic program design, cross-functional partnership with senior leadership, and direct facilitation with team members at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
Development Strategy & Program Design
  • Own Kopius' employee development strategy across the full organization - Engineering, Delivery, Solutions, Sales, Marketing, Recruiting, People, and Operations
  • Design and execute learning and development programs that scale across regions (U.S., LATAM, Europe) and roles (individual contributor through senior leader)
  • Build and maintain career pathing frameworks, competency models, and progression criteria for each area of the business
  • Partner with the CPO to align development strategy with broader people and business priorities
  • Establish clear metrics for development impact - engagement, retention, internal mobility, promotion rates, and capability growth
Leadership & Manager Development
  • Design and deliver leadership development programs for managers, senior leaders, and high-potential talent across the company
  • Build manager enablement programs - 1:1 discipline, feedback delivery, performance conversations, career development, and coaching skills
  • Support senior leadership on team development strategies, succession planning, and organizational capability building
  • Facilitate leadership workshops, cohort programs, and coaching engagements as needed
Cross-Functional Partnership with Area Leaders
  • Partner directly with leaders across Engineering, Delivery, Solutions, Sales, Marketing, Recruiting, People, and Operations to identify development needs and priorities
  • Co-design area-specific development tracks - technical career paths for Engineering, sales enablement for the commercial team, delivery excellence for Solutions, and equivalents across the business
  • Advise area leaders on team development strategies, learning investments, and capability gaps
  • Ensure development programs reflect the realities of each function - not one-size-fits-all corporate training
Onboarding & New Hire Ramp
  • Own the strategy and execution of new hire onboarding across the company - corporate orientation, role-specific ramp, and integration into Kopius culture
  • Partner with People Care, Recruiting, and area managers to ensure new hires ramp effectively across all regions
  • Continuously improve onboarding based on new hire feedback, retention data, and manager input
Learning Platforms, Content & Operations
  • Own the selection, implementation, and management of learning platforms, LMS tools, and content libraries
  • Build and maintain a centralized development library - curriculum, playbooks, templates, and reusable learning assets
  • Coordinate external training providers, coaches, and vendor relationships as needed
  • Measure program effectiveness, iterate based on feedback and data, and report on development impact to executive leadership
Basic Qualifications
  • Advanced English with strong written and verbal communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to influence senior leadership across functions
  • Strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution - able to design frameworks and also facilitate directly with teams
  • Highly organized and structured - comfortable building programs from scratch, managing multiple initiatives in parallel, and measuring impact
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - able to partner effectively with senior leaders across very different functions (technical, commercial, operational)
  • Excellent facilitation and coaching skills - comfortable in front of executives, mid-level managers, and individual contributors alike
  • Comfortable with regular travel to engage directly with distributed teams and lead development programs in person
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Cross-cultural fluency - able to design and deliver programs that work across U.S., LATAM, and European teams
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership over development outcomes and organizational capability growth
  • Discretion and confidentiality handling sensitive people, performance, and organizational information
Technical Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, Organizational Development, or similar roles, including at least 3 years in a senior or director-level capacity
  • Proven experience designing and executing development programs at scale across multiple functions and regions
  • Hands-on experience building career pathing frameworks, competency models, and leadership development programs
  • Experience in professional services, IT consulting, or technology-driven organizations strongly preferred
  • Experience working across distributed teams and multiple regions (U.S. + LATAM + Europe or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with learning platforms (LMS, LXP) and modern L&D tooling
  • Strong analytical skills - able to measure development impact through engagement, retention, mobility, and performance metrics
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, Education, Psychology, Business, or related field
  • Nice to have: Master's degree in HR, Organizational Development, or related field
  • Nice to have: Coaching certifications (ICF, CTI, or similar)
  • Nice to have: Bilingual English/Spanish for LATAM engagement
  • Nice to have: Experience in a company that has scaled through significant growth or organizational change
