Brown & Brown is seeking an Employee Benefits Strategic Account Executive to join our growing team in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

The Strategic Account Executive Serves as a trusted advisor to clients by providing strategic account management, benefits consulting, and relationship management support. Leverages expertise in employee benefits products, carrier relationships, market trends, and competitive intelligence to develop customized solutions, drive client satisfaction, and support account growth and retention objectives.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Serve as the strategic advisor and primary relationship manager for an assigned book of business, driving client retention, satisfaction, and organic growth through proactive account management and consultative benefit strategies.


  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of client service deliverables, including reporting, renewals, employee communications, benefit guides, open enrollment materials, compliance resources, technology solutions, and wellness initiatives.


  • Lead the development and execution of client-specific go-to-market strategies by coordinating with marketing, finance, producers, and clients to define timelines, deliverables, carrier marketing approaches, contribution strategies, and plan alternatives. Communicate strategic objectives and renewal goals to the marketing team, ensuring alignment and effective execution throughout the marketing and renewal process.


  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of benefit programs, contracts, and carrier offerings to identify coverage gaps, compliance risks, cost-containment opportunities, and plan enhancement recommendations that align with client and office growth objectives.


  • Lead recurring strategic business reviews including stewardship meetings, claims and utilization analyses, benchmarking reviews, renewal planning sessions, and annual benefit strategy discussions with client decision-makers.


  • Support and participate in employee education and open enrollment meetings as needed, while ensuring all client commitments and project timelines are successfully executed across departments.


  • Travel to client sites as required


  • Manage the benefits due diligence process for mergers, acquisitions, and prospective opportunities, including data analysis, risk assessment, executive summaries, and presentation of findings and recommendations to leadership and client stakeholders.


  • Coordinate internal and external resources to deliver comprehensive client solutions and identify opportunities to introduce additional products, services, and risk management strategies that enhance the client relationship.


  • Develop and execute customized client service strategies that align with organizational objectives, support long-term client retention, and deliver measurable value.


Skills & Experience to be Successful:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience


  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience with health insurance and healthcare compliance


  • Florida License 2-15


  • Proficient with MS Office Suite


  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including verbal, written, in person, and telephone interactions.


  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
