IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 8 month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us and transition into an ER position at our hospital post-mentorship!
Training Schedule Months 1-4 - 50% working on ER floor, 50% didactic training (lectures, vetbloom, self-study)
Months 5-6 - Rotations through Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Neurology
Month 7 - Working as swing doctor 2pm-2am
Month 8 - Working paired with an overnight doctor 6pm-6am
The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration.
The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.

Work authorization in the United States is a requirement for the position. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company, but candidates eligible for TN status may be considered.
Program Duration/Commitment - 8 month training program beginning mid June 2027
- 1 year commitment as an ER clinician at IndyVET following training
Location - IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital - 5425 Victory Dr. Indianapolis, IN 46203
Program Highlights - Paired with an experienced Emergency Veterinarian or Criticalist
- Rotate with specialty services during the training program; Critical Care, Oncology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology and Ophthalmology
- Surgical training available if desired
- Always work with a dedicated mentor on shifts
- Competency-based curriculum that includes asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds
- Regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors
