Job Description
Prepares and stocks media for In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) lab procedures and operating room procedures. Prepares culture dishes for egg retrievals, insemination, embryo culture, and embryo transfer procedures; retrieves oocytes, prepares sperm, performs insemination, cultures embryos, performs micromanipulation procedures for assisted fertilization, hatching, and biopsy and loads catheter for embryo transfer. Freezes supernumerary embryos, thaws embryos; selects and prepares embryos for transfer. Keeps patient records and data.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepares culture media; performs daily QC procedures.
  • Maintains IVF equipment including incubators, isolates, microscopes, CO2 tanks, and liquid nitrogen tanks; collects and processes eggs.
  • Prepares sperm for standard insemination and Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
  • Prepares Microsurgical Epididymal Sperm Aspirates (MESA) and Testicular biopsy Specimen Extraction (TESE) for ICSI.
  • Prepares eggs for insemination and ICSI.
  • Performs insemination and ICSI.
  • Performs embryo biopsy.
  • Selects and prepares embryos for transfer; freezes and thaws embryos.
  • Evaluates accuracy and technical quality of laboratory tests.
