You will be a member of the Collins Product Cybersecurity Organization (PCO) supporting strategic defense and protected communication systems programs. We are a growing business developing new products in an aggressive and competitive market. The new designs are exciting and technically challenging.

The Product Cybersecurity Engineering DoD East Florida team is hiring a Embedded System Security Engineer II to support programs for our US military and various international customers, keeping the world safe from foreign threats. This team supports multiple Collins contracts and is seeking to fill roles across several open contracts - our goal is to align each new hire with a position that best suits their skills and allows for career growth.

The ideal candidate will have experience in requirement allocation and decomposition, analyzing system architectures, designing security features and principles, assessing security vulnerabilities (scanning), and formal cybersecurity test and evaluation (CT&E). The candidate will report to the Senior Manager of Cybersecurity Engineering and work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams on the program they support.

This role will be worked onsite in Marlborough, MA. and will require an active SECRET clearance. Relocation assistance is not available.

What You Will Do:
  • Support system certification and authorization activities, including RMF Authorization to Operate (ATO) and NSA Type 1 Cryptographic Certification, by preparing assigned documentation, evidence, and assessment artifacts
  • Support cybersecurity requirement decomposition, allocation, implementation, and verification for assigned system components using systems engineering practices
  • Analyze system requirements, models, interfaces, and diagrams to identify and document potential security vulnerabilities and trace findings to applicable security requirements
  • Participate in system design reviews and document security engineering inputs, findings, and recommendations for assigned system elements
  • Work with systems engineers and software/hardware developers to incorporate assigned security requirements into system designs and track identified issues through resolution
  • Support security-focused System Verification and Validation (SV&V) activities by developing test cases, test plans, and procedures; participating in test conduct; documenting results; and supporting remediation analysis
  • Participate in cybersecurity engineering reviews and working groups and provide status, findings, and technical inputs for assigned activities
  • Review applicable security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry guidance and identify impacts to assigned system components


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and transferable SECRET U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity or product security activities for embedded, aerospace, defense, or other mission-critical systems
  • Experience supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, security assessments, or system authorization activities
  • Experience analyzing system requirements, models, diagrams, or architectures to identify security requirements or risks
  • Experience developing technical documentation, including security requirements, assessments, test documentation, or certification artifacts
  • Experience supporting system or software verification and validation activities, including development or execution of test procedures and documentation of test results


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Active and transferable TOP SECRET clearance
  • Experience with NSA cryptographic certification, Cross Domain Solution (CDS) requirements, or NIAP
  • Familiarity with DOORS, JIRA, Confluence, Cameo (MBSE), or other systems modeling and agile tools
  • Security-related certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP) and/or an Electrical or Computer Engineering degree
  • Experience with security protocols used in embedded systems and communications for aerospace environments
  • Familiarity with DoD-focused security assessment tools such as SCC, NMAP, Evaluate-STIG, Nessus, ACAS, Vulnerator, eMASS, etc
  • Willingness to learn about satellite systems, communication systems, and evolving security technologies
  • Demonstrated collaboration, effective communication, customer focus, and ability to drive results

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
