Responsibilities

  • Software Development Engineer responsible for the delivery of embedded software solutions for Synchronization and Timing on the Service Router products within IP Routing Department of Nokia.
  • Become an expert for a key component of the Timing software architecture with complete ownership and responsibility for your area
  • Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering and mathematical analysis complimented by knowledge in network synchronization.
  • Work with product line managers to gather requirements and work with team members to come up with efficient software design to fit the requirements
  • Design, implement, unit test and integrate new features for the product as per customer specifications and requirements
  • Hold accountability for your own code quality and timeline commitments
  • Work with HW engineers and QA engineers to trouble shoot complex problems to find best possible resolution post root cause analysis.
  • Communicate and collaborate with fellow SW Engineers, Hardware Engineers, QA Engineers, Product Line Management and/or Vendors to ensure a smooth development cycle


Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Computer/software engineering, Computer Science, equivalent, or better.
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in the industry
  • Systems Programming Expertise in C/C++
  • Strong system level problem solving
  • Clear communication of technical issues and solutions
  • Synchronizing timing including SyncE, PTP, NTP, GNSS, SETS and PLLs
  • System hardware including CPU, CPLDs/FPGAs, I2C and PCIe
  • Real-Time & High-Performance Systems
  • Linux OS, multi-threaded programming, lock free/low latency design etc.
  • Moderate understanding of software build tool-chains and Make-based infrastructure
  • Designing for fault tolerance & high availability
