Position SummaryDue to continued growth, our firm is seeking talented Embedded Software Engineers for a variety of disciplines, including embedded programming, software architecture design, software testing, motor control, and power electronics controls. Embedded Software Engineers play a critical role in developing our wide variety of products and provide vital sub-system design support for products related to thermal control and energy conversion.
Key Responsibilities- Software development: Design and implement reliable, deterministic embedded software in C/C++
- Software requirements: Develop clear requirements and ensure bidirectional traceability between system requirements, code, and test cases
- Verification and testing: Design and execute functional and/or automated testing to demonstrate full compliance with software requirements
- Hardware integration: Perform board bring-up, interface with sensors/actuators, communicate with common protocols (CAN, SPI, UART, etc.), and debug hardware/software
- Configuration management: Maintain version control and configuration management baselines in alignment with appropriate standards
Required Qualifications- B.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science required with a minimum GPA of 3.3 - M.S. or PhD a plus
- 3-year minimum experience developing embedded software or controls, strong proficiency in embedded C/C++
- Experience writing and following software and system requirements and requirements traceability
- Proficiency in software debugging and using standard hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
- United States Citizenship required due to US Government ITAR program restrictions
Preferred Qualifications- Experience developing and following DO-178 documentation and processes
- Experience with TI C2000 or STM32 microcontroller family
- Experience with additional programming languages (C#, Python, assembly, etc.) and GUI design
- Understanding of digital control algorithms, digital filters and the general control of power electronics systems
