Job Summary

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join an innovative Software Technologies Organization supporting software systems for mission systems across the full software development lifecycle. The role will primarily focus on C/C++ and real-time embedded software development, including analysis, design, implementation, integration, debugging, testing, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to verify software on simulators and production hardware while contributing to technical reviews, risk mitigation, defect resolution, and continuous improvement. This position supports a DOD Special Access Program and requires the ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance and SAP access before beginning program work.

Key Responsibilities
• Analyze, develop, and modify existing software using modern software development techniques.
• Work on mission-system software throughout the software development lifecycle, including specification, design, implementation, integration, debugging, and maintenance.
• Identify software and technical risks, recommend mitigation strategies, track defects, develop resolutions, and report status.
• Design, construct, and execute unit tests and build verification test plans.
• Track and report software testing status and results.
• Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to test and verify software products using simulators and production hardware in integration laboratories.
• Identify and assess emerging technologies prior to implementation.
• Participate with systems engineering teams in technical peer reviews, design reviews, architecture reviews, and system reviews.
• Ensure software and system requirements are addressed throughout design, development, integration, and testing activities.
• Contribute to a collaborative, transparent, team-oriented engineering culture focused on shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and automation.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• 8+ years of related professional experience.
• 6+ years of experience working with C/C++ and real-time embedded software.
• Experience across the full software lifecycle, including specification, design, implementation, integration, debugging, and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of embedded software development and testing.
• Experience developing and executing unit tests and build verification test plans.
• Experience identifying and resolving software defects and technical issues.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Willingness and ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance and SAP access before beginning program work.

Preferred Qualifications
• Active DOD Secret Clearance.
• Experience with algorithmic application development and optimization.
• Experience in Electronic Warfare, Built-in Test, or Calibrations.
• Experience with Visual Studio and MATLAB.
• Experience with Coverity, SonarQube, and/or Clockwork tools.
• Experience with Open Architecture solutions.
• Experience with the Atlassian toolset.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with Model Based Engineering.
• Experience with DevSecOps best practices.
