Position Summary The Enterprise Applications Director provides strategic leadership, operational management, and technical oversight for the institution's suite of enterprise administrative software, with a primary focus on the Ellucian Banner ERP ecosystem. This role serves as a key bridge between IT, academic leadership, and administrative units to drive institutional efficiency, data integrity, and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities - Strategic Leadership & Governance: Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for enterprise applications; collaborate with executive stakeholders to align technology initiatives with university goals.
- Ellucian Banner Oversight: Manage the administration, maintenance, integration, and upgrade cycles for Ellucian Banner (Student, Finance, HR/Payroll, Financial Aid) and related third-party integrations.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of systems analysts, database administrators, and software developers; foster a culture of service delivery and operational excellence.
- Project Management: Overseational execution of enterprise-wide technical projects, ensuring deliverables meet timeline, scope, and budget requirements.
- Integration & Customization: Direct the design and support of secure APIs, data warehouses, and custom middleware connecting Banner with campus systems (e.g., LMS, CRM, reporting tools).
- Compliance & Security: Ensure enterprise software applications comply with institutional policies, FERPA, cybersecurity protocols, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Vendor Management: Maintain strong relationships with software vendors, consultants, and service providers to optimize licensing, service level agreements, and support contracts.
Required Qualifications - Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 7• 10 years of progressive experience in IT leadership within higher education, with at least 5 years direct oversight of Ellucian Banner environments.
- Technical Expertise: Deep functional and technical knowledge of Ellucian Banner modules, Oracle database infrastructure, SQL, PL/SQL, and modern integration frameworks (e.g., Ellucian Ethos).
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record in managing cross-functional technical teams and leading complex ERP deployment or upgrade projects.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical business partners.
