Responsibilities

Job Summary

Devises, selects, sets up, and operate electronic instrumentation and related electromechanical or electrohydraulic apparatus used for operation and environmental testing of mechanical, structural, or electrical equipment, and translates test data for engineering personnel by performing the following duties. Perform PLC troubleshooting on control systems to quickly identify and resolve PLC faults.

Note: This position is on a 2nd shift schedule (Mon - Fri, 3pm - 11:30pm)

Essential Functions & Responsibilities but not limited to:
  • Ability to read and follow the information on work instructions.
  • Record data either manually or by computer as required.
  • Selects, installs, calibrates, and checks sensing, telemetering, and recording instrumentation and circuitry, and develops specifications for nonstandard apparatus according to engineering data, characteristic of equipment under test, and capabilities of procurable test apparatus.
  • Troubleshoots control logic through PLC interface using software to isolate and repair fault conditions.
  • Installs or directs technical personnel in installation of unit in test chamber or other test facility.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on automation equipment, including sensors, actuators, and motor drives.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, corrective actions, and system changes for future reference.
  • Operates test apparatus during test cycle to produce, regulate, and record effects of actual or simulated conditions such as vibration, stress, temperature, humidity, pressure, altitude, and acceleration.
  • Analyzes and converts test data to usable form and prepares graphs and written reports to translate test results. Plans test program.
  • Uses computerized equipment and software to perform testing functions and produce graphs.
  • Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid occlusions. Interprets an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Salary
  • Anticipated Pay Range: $80k - $90k per year. *Pay rates within this range are determined and based on various factors including experience, education, certifications, etc.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years industrial experience/manufacturing experience.
  • Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items you must be able to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
