Full Job Description
Responsibilities

  • As an Electronics Hardware Engineer I you will design, develop, test, and validate electronic hardware solutions for power distribution and circuit protection products, including Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI), Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters (AFCI), and Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCB).
  • Maintain and enhance existing product offers through design updates, component substitutions, cost optimization initiatives, and resolution of field or manufacturing issues.
  • Develop analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic circuits for protection, sensing, control, and power management applications.
  • Create and modify schematics and printed circuit board (PCB) layouts using Cadence Allegro design tools.
  • Perform circuit analysis, modeling, and verification using SPICE simulation tools and laboratory testing techniques.
  • Analyze risks of safety products. Quantify risks and develop mitigations using A/D/T/P FMEA and FTA techniques
  • Define validation plans, analyze test results, and implement design improvements to ensure product reliability and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and product management teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Manage engineering documentation, bills of materials, change records, and design releases using Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Investigate technical issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for product and manufacturing challenges.
  • Support manufacturing sites during product launch activities and ongoing production.
  • Participate in technical reviews and design assessments.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as required by the business and team.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent field.
  • 1+ years of experience in electronics hardware development and validation.
  • Familiarity with circuit protection products, including GFCI, AFCI, surge protection, or miniature circuit breakers.
  • Familiarity with current sensing solutions.
  • Knowledge of PCB schematic capture and layout tools.
  • Knowledge performing circuit simulation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of hardware validation, verification, and laboratory test methods.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management and engineering documentation systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards applicable to low-voltage electrical products is a plus: UL/CSA/IEC.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause investigation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global engineering teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Travel: ~10%

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 68,000 - USD 102,000 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
