Full Job Description
What you will do: This position will work in conjunction with the Sales, Business Development, Sourcing, Quality and Engineering teams to provide technical focus on the execution of engineering projects. The long-term vision of this position is focused on growing the Electronics Product portfolio and support continued diversification efforts in line with our accelerated growth strategy.

Reporting to the Electronics Engineering Manager, this position will be responsible for the Development efforts for electronics reman and repair opportunities. Primary responsibilities will be leading the initial assessment and engineering analysis to determine production feasibility for a diverse array of electronic devices.

Essential Duties
  • Perform development work on new products.
  • Provide estimates of replacement frequency on all components of the product being researched for the purpose of remanufacturing viability and related costing.
  • Assist in other disciplines during the initial phases of the APQP Process, new product introduction, including cost quotations, development, pilot runs, and introduction to production departments.
  • Develop test methods and configure test equipment for Electronics products.
  • Conduct a continuous search of new materials, processes, and procedures to enhance and improve the product line.
  • Work with purchasing and materials departments to help procure and approve samples of new parts, including component and material evaluation.
  • Implement product improvements in coordination with our Process and Product Improvement Team or customer request for reliability, including Failure Analysis.
  • Must be willing to travel to customers or vendors as required. Domestic travel 5%, International Travel 1%.
  • Participate in and support the principles of Open Book Management and recognize the responsibilities of being an owner of the company.

Qualifications
  • Must have experience in troubleshooting electronic devices down to a specific failed component on an array of electronic devices, included but not limited to:
    • Printed Circuit Board Assemblies
    • Sensors
    • Displays
    • DC Motors and Servo Motors
    • Electromechanical Devices
    • Automotive Electronics
    • ECU
    • EV Batteries
  • Must have one of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline OR at least three years towards a Bachelor's degree in technical discipline with intent on completing degree within first year of employment.
    • Industry experience equivalent to technical background that would have been gained from formal degree.
  • Must have at least two years of practical, hands-on mechanical experience
  • Experience in product engineering, warranty or repair in manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Computer experience in Microsoft Office Applications as well as email and web-based applications required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience
