About the Role

As part of the Electronics Engineering Department the Electronics Engineer position is part of the overall team for the design, development, production, and operation of Uncrewed Vehicle Systems with respect to the overall electrical & electronics systems developed and maintained for Aerial, Surface, Control Stations, Test Equipment, and Payloads as part of the QTSC product families.

What You'll Do
  • Technical expertise within the electronics discipline area with advanced technical skills of other areas
  • Full requirements definition for a subsystem, payload and electrical scope for product systems for overall project planning activities
  • Project lead level of competency for system level project within the electrical discipline for medium sized projects.
  • Resolves ambiguity regarding technical issues within a single area or multiple areas of expertise including breaking down and defining project technical requirements for large sized projects
  • Testing, reviewing and validating Electrical and electronic design for release approval.
  • Creating, reviewing, and approving engineering technical publications including drawings, schematics, safety documentation, engineering reports & operational materials related to the electrical design.
  • Provide recommendation for technical aspects of long-range technical projects
  • Work assignment will have critical deadlines.


What You Bring

Education & Professional Membership:
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Equivalent
  • Registered APEGA P.Eng or PL Eng

Work Experience:
  • 8-12 years in the Design and Development of Embedded Electronic Products
  • Experience in avionics, marine, vehicular military systems, and/or communication equipment.

Essential Skills:
  • Advanced Circuit Design & Analysis (Analog and digital circuit design, Schematic reading and creation. Use of components like resistors, capacitors, ICs, transistors)
  • PCB Design (Layout design, routing, and manufacturing files using Altium Designer)
  • Power Electronics (Power supplies and converters, Inverters, rectifiers, regulators, battery management systems)
  • Embedded Systems (Microcontrollers such as STM32)
  • Testing & Debugging (Using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers
  • Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting Hardware validation)
  • Simulation Tools (MATLAB/Simulink, Siemens HyperLynx)

Additional Assets Skills:
  • Signal Processing (Analog and digital signal processing (DSP))
  • Operating Systems administration (LINUX and bash scripting)
  • Control Systems (PID controllers, Stability analysis)
  • Communication Systems (RF fundamentals and Modulation Techniques)
  • Small System Network Design & Mapping
