Full Job Description

The Role:

The Electronics and Firmware Engineer is part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team that executes relevant designs related to vision, IoT, and related electronics and firmware products. This role is focused on building firmware integrations between hardware and software components. The Electronics and Firmware Engineer will also be involved in hardware selection, compensating for environmental factors, and ensuring the system runs well in all iterations.   

Key Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Part of a multi-disciplinary group of engineers to develop innovative embedded solutions

  • Work closely with Product Management to understand the customer needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs

  • Evaluate technical feasibility of new ideas and guide engineering trade offs

  • Evaluate potential solutions for compatibility with system requirements by working across teams and cultures

  • Convert ideas, technologies, and insights from concepts into commercialized solutions that align to customer needs

  • Develop IP for AutoStore

  • Build relationships with tech partners

 

Key Qualifications:

  • 1 - 5 years of experience in delivering embedded solutions for customers (areas of relevance robotics, IoT, electronics, embedded systems, advanced sensing, vision, AI & physical AI, etc)

  • Strong proficiency with Git, Embedded C/C++ and Python

  • Experience with developing firmware for resource constrained devices

  • Experience writing unit tests

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Familiar with design tools, processes and techniques to deliver solutions on schedule

  • Knowledge of Embedded Linux based designs

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies

  • Experience with using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.

  • Ability to develop solutions from concept to launch creating detailed designs

  • Ability to partner with other experts internally to deliver a complete solution

  • Excellent communication skills across organizational levels 

  • Familiar with Project Management concepts

  • Bachelor’s or Masters' degree in Electronics, Cybernetics/Robotics, Embedded Systems, or a related field
