The United States Space Force (USSF) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida is searching for an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer for the SLD45/ 1ROPS (NH-0855-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).

Description of Position: The primary purpose of this position is to provide electronic engineering support, serve as the SLD 45 technical representative for a variety of programs and provide subject matter expertise to the SLD, SSC, HHQ and launch customers concerning Eastern Range (ER) instrumentation systems, improvement and modernization.

Ideal Candidate:

- Extensive scientific and technical knowledge of Range instrumentation, and at least 18 months experience working with Eastern Range systems is highly desirable.

- Experience in test and evaluation.

- Ability to work effectively in stressful situations.

- Excellent analytical and leadership skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including the ability to explain complex technical issues and policy to a non-technical audience comprised of senior Wing management, representatives from other Wing and governmental agencies, and contractor personnel.

- Extensive knowledge of the role, mission, and goals of SLD 45.

- Knowledge of advanced technology available for acquisition and SLD 45 use.

- Ability to develop new Range concepts, programs, and procedures; and direct investigative studies of these technologies

- Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and usage to effectively accomplish assigned functions.

- Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework".
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
  • PCS / relocation funding is authorized.
  • A professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution in Electronics Engineering or a closely related field is required.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 15 days a year.
  • Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, "Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
  • The employee must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
  • This position is part of the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
