Job Description

Electrification Analysts at Tri-State work to develop, promote, implement, and analyze new and existing energy efficiency and electrification programs for a variety of customer classes. Managing programs provides an opportunity to make a substantial impact on lives and businesses. Through your daily exchanges with Tri-State members, contractors, and internal teams, your focus will be on increasing adoption of energy-saving and electrification measures which help lower the overall utility costs for individual consumers and provide value to Tri-State's member owners. Additionally, participate in external facing discussions, events, or industry meetings on available programs and emerging programs or technology.

This position will focus on working with our member utilities on continual development and implementation of programs for energy efficiency and electrification measures, specifically small business end-consumers, irrigators, industrial, and oil and gas members. As part supporting our members, Tri-State implements several commercial programs mainly around energy assessments and custom incentives. While the work is led by our member utilities, this position will work with our implementation partners to ensure a positive member and member-consumer experience, increase implementation of measures and track program performance.

This role requires strong organizational and project coordination skills to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, coordinate internal and external stakeholders, and ensure timely completion of deliverables from concept through implementation while working with a high degree of independence.

Note: There is one position available, and this position will be filled at one of four job grade levels: Electrification Analyst I; job grade 7; Electrification Analyst II, job grade 8; Electrification Analyst III; job grade 9 or Senior Electrification Analyst, job grade 10. This decision will be based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate and Tri-State business needs at the time of hire.

Hiring Salary Range: $109,000-$139,000

Electrification Analyst III

Hiring Salary Range: $98,000-$124,000

Electrification Analyst II

Hiring Salary Range: $88,000-$111,000

Electrification Analyst I

Hiring Salary Range: $80,000-$99,000

Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary outside of the posted hiring salary range based upon work experience, education and/or skill level.

Responsibilities

  • Observant to identify opportunities with member systems and member relations team to implement new value add services and/or leverage external funding opportunities to complement current program offerings.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities among internal teams, member systems, contractors, and external partners to ensure projects progress on schedule and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Provide engineering type duties which include reviewing and/or performing associated energy calculations
  • Identify opportunities to work with external organizations such as the Colorado Energy Office, Wyoming Energy Authority, etc. to increase program awareness.
  • Facilitate material on the consumer benefits of Electrification and Energy Efficiency measures.
  • Assist with the development and design of member system-based products, services and programs that create additional value for Tri-State's member systems.
  • Assist with the development of trade ally programs
  • Assist with communication of available programs.
  • Identify areas of opportunity by extrapolating data and engaging new consumers who meet requirements for electrification or efficiency improvements
  • Assist with the budgeting, invoicing, evaluation, and tracking of expenses and energy savings or load growth of assigned offerings; contributes to the development of RFPs for contracted services
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of internal program management plans.
  • Review and process rebate applications.
  • Support the integration of strategic activities between member systems, end-use customer, internal staff, advisory consultants, and vendors/contractors
  • Develop and maintain knowledge on Electrification/EE through participation in relevant conferences, webinars, and working groups.
  • Prepare reports, special projects, and perform other related duties, as assigned and necessary.
  • Assist with load building studies, demand side management, integrated resource planning, and programs.
  • Cross train with other team members and departments to understand how programs support Tri-States mission and strategic plan.
  • Because Tri-State is an electric utility with continuous service obligations to its customers, regular, reliable, and predictable performance of the essential functions and responsibilities is an essential function of the job.
  • Because Tri-State has an obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to its customers, the ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job.

Qualifications

Education and Training
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, engineering, economics, finance, or equivalent related experience in at least one of these disciplines.
  • Certification in project management, program management, or process improvement preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
  • Proficient analytical, quantitative and economic evaluation skills.
  • Must possess the ability to assimilate, analyze, interpret and present technical data for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.


Experience:
  • Eight (8) year or more of progressive related experience including collecting, analyzing, validating, reading and reconciling data.
  • Experience in developing and implementing internal written communication.
  • Experience with demand side management and marketing and/or member service programs directed at residential/small commercial consumers.
  • Experience coordinating complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders, vendors, or partner organizations.


Other:
  • Willingness to travel as needed, not expected more than 15%. (Must possess a valid driver's license.)
  • Must be able to demonstrate that he/she can perform all of the essential functions of the job.


DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in analyzing economic, finance, program design or similar activities with electric cooperative utility member services or program design and implementation experience preferred.


Note: The above requirements describe the experience and education qualifications for the Senior Electrification Analyst. Those with less experience will be hired at the I, II or III job grade level.
