Full Job Description
OVERVIEW

The Electrical Technician will perform routine electrical troubleshooting of refinery equipment and installation/restoration of electrical controls. The Electrical Technician must be able to work independently and will be responsible for the efficient use of materials, equipment, and time in performance of the job.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate all instruments throughout the refinery such as but not limited to flow meters, burners, transmitters, levels, temperature, recorders, and controllers.
  • Ability to install, configure, calibrate, and maintain control, measurement and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog & digital).
  • Ability to inspect and test the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, specifications, or verbal instruction on job assignments requiring skill and accuracy for the construction, installation, adjustment, maintenance and repair of all electrical and instrument systems and equipment.
  • Read and understand ladder logic, P&IDs, one-line electrical drawings, process flow diagrams, and instrument service manuals.
  • Ability to create concise and coherent inspection, repair, and coverage reports.
  • Perform such functions as: installing conduit, piping and tubing, cables, wiring and electro-mechanical equipment for power, light, control, signal, instrument and distribution systems, and other similar duties as directed.
  • Analyze electrical circuits, connections, operating requirements, and conditions of equipment to properly proceed with installation, adjustment, and maintenance or repair work.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.


Job Requirements:
  • This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.
  • Knowledge of code requirements pertaining to electrical installations
  • Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts, and weekends on a regular basis.
  • Have a high regard and ownership for personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Controls circuit experience.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as protective clothing, safety glasses/goggles, steel-toed boots, etc.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a unionized environment.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

$51.11 per hour
