Electrical Systems Engineer to support advanced vehicle development, prototype builds, and pre-production test platforms. This position serves as a subject matter expert for vehicle electrical architecture, electrical schematics, and custom interface development/ PCB design, in a fast-paced, high-visibility engineering environment.
ResponsibilitiesIn this high-visibility position, the engineer will serve as a subject matter expert in vehicle electrical systems, supporting the design, integration, and validation of innovative automotive technologies. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining vehicle electrical architecture, creating and interpreting electrical schematics, and designing custom electrical interfaces and printed circuit boards (PCBs) to support prototype and testing activities. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced environment to ensure reliable system performance and successful program execution from concept through validation.
What you'll do... - Development and integration of custom vehicle electrical architectures across prototype and test platforms
- Define and implement vehicle communication networks (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet)
- Design and deploy custom electrical interfaces to support instrumentation requirements
- Lead analog and digital circuit design and oversee full PCB development lifecycle (design through validation)
- Contribute to prototype builds and key program milestones with hands-on engagement
- Apply signal integrity and network robustness principles to ensure reliable operation in harsh automotive environments.
- Create electrical schematic documentation and configuration management documentation.
QualificationsYou'll have...- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 3+ years of experience in electrical systems design, integration, and troubleshooting
- 3+ years of experience in automotive applications and applicable interfaces such as vehicle CAN network communication bus and vehicle diagnostics
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end custom PCB designs
- Demonstrated expertise in automotive electrical architecture and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated experience ensuring end-to-end system integration and validation, from requirements through design and test results
- Experience with resource planning, budget awareness, and cost-conscious engineering decisions
- Proficiency with electrical lab and diagnostic equipment

- Hands-on experience with vehicle builds, prototype PCB fabrication, and test platform electrical integration
- Experience supporting product launches or high-visibility engineering initiatives
- Strong background in signal integrity and vehicle instrumentation tooling
- Familiarity with networking protocols (CAN, XCP, TCP, UDP) and debugging tools (DET, CANalyzer, etc.)
- Experience with OrCAD, Kicad, Eagle, etc., schematic and PCB creation tooling
- Experience with CAD and PLM tools (e.g., CATIA, AutoCAD, Teamcenter, 3DX)

This position is a range of salary grades 7-8 and ranges from $86,600-140,000.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
