Full Job Description
This position is local to Santa Clara, CA. This position supports traveling candidates with the potential for future project assignments nationally at the conclusion of this project.

Position Description:

GCON is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Electrical Superintendent to oversee the electrical systems installation for brownfield data center construction projects as part of an ongoing high tech program client relationship. This is a leadership role that requires experience working in live datacenter environments while effectively managing high client expectations as part of a designated client-GC ongoing construction program. A successful candidate possesses the ability to coordinate and direct the work of electrical trade partners ensuring safety and quality in accordance with all codes, quality standards, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Lead and supervise the electrical installation team on-site, ensuring the successful and timely completion of electrical systems for a $30M+ data center project.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all electrical-related activities, effectively communicating with project managers, general contractors, trade partners, and vendors to ensure smooth integration of all electrical systems.
  • Coordinate work between electrical trade partners, commercial teams to ensure that all tasks are performed according to schedule and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure all electrical work meets the required quality standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Perform regular inspections of electrical installations to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety by implementing and enforcing safety protocols and ensuring all workers adhere to OSHA standards and best practices.
  • Track the progress of electrical work, identify potential delays or conflicts, and take proactive measures to keep the project on schedule.
  • Work closely with other construction discipline superintendents (HVAC, structural, civil, etc.) to resolve any coordination issues or clashes between systems. Foster a collaborative working environment to promote project success.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • BS in Construction Management or related degree
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical trade or general contractor overseeing electrical scope, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role, preferably on large-scale commercial or industrial projects (data centers, manufacturing plants, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including high-voltage distribution, emergency backup systems, lighting, power and controls, grounding, and fire alarm systems. Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).

  • Hearing: Sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone and radio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipment
  • Speech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radio
