Electrical Specialist

What you will enjoy doing*

  • You will ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of electrical systems and assets across multiple production facilities.
  • Identify, develop, and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for electrical equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve industrial electrical distribution equipment, including substations, breakers, switchgear, MCCs, protective relays, battery and UPS systems, transformers up to 138kV, motors up to 45,000 HP and 15,000 volts, and backup generators up to 1500kW.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities, including infrared thermography, transformer oil analysis, partial discharge testing, and power quality analysis.
  • Further, you will analyze equipment performance data, support root cause investigations, and develop solutions to resolve major failures and recurring reliability issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset performance, reliability, efficiency, and life cycle costs through data-driven maintenance and engineering strategies.
  • Assist with turnaround planning, electrical scope development, scheduling, and cost estimation activities.
  • And will provide on-site and remote technical leadership and guidance to plant personnel and contractors, ensuring safe and effective execution of work.
  • Collaborate with regional reliability teams to achieve strategic reliability objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support both office and field operations, including up to 50% domestic travel and availability for off-hours support as required.


What makes you great

  • You have a minimum 5 years of experience maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing medium-voltage (5kV-15kV) electrical systems and equipment within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices, electrical codes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards applicable to industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience with industrial control and instrumentation systems, as well as computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), such as Infor EAM.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • You have proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, email, and other standard business software.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or a Journeyman Electrician license preferred.
