Job Overview The Project Manager leads the successful delivery of electrical projects within AMCON. This role is responsible for financial performance, schedule management, client communication, and overall project execution. The Project Manager ensures alignment between field operations, estimating, and executive leadership while maintaining AMCON's commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
RequirementsDuties and Responsibilities Leadership, Management, and Accountability
- Lead project teams to deliver projects on time, on budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Maintain clear communication with superintendents, field teams, and clients throughout all project phases.
- Champion AMCON's safety-first culture, ensuring project teams follow company, client, and regulatory safety practices.
Financial Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost control systems to achieve financial targets.
- Develop change orders, billings, and cost-to-complete projections to maintain profitability.
Document Control
- Responsible for all project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and change management logs are accurate and current.
- Support project coordination with design teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
Schedule Management
- Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules with internal teams and clients.
- Identify and mitigate schedule risks through proactive planning and resource coordination.
Problem Identification and Resolution
- Anticipate potential project issues and implement corrective actions swiftly.
- Serve as primary point of escalation for operational and client concerns.
- Resolve technical challenges to ensure projects meet performance and safety standards.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships through consistent communication and exceptional project delivery.
- Represent AMCON professionally in all client and partner interactions.
Qualifications - 8+ years of construction PM experience, including large-scale/data center projects ($20M+)
- Proven ownership of project P&L, consistently delivering at or above target margins
- Strong expertise in cost-to-complete forecasting, job cost reporting, and margin management
- Demonstrated ability to protect margin through cost control, change orders, and risk mitigation
- Experience driving billing, cash flow, and AR performance
- Deep understanding of GMP, lump sum, and T&M contracts
- Track record of subcontractor buyout, scope control, and cost containment
