LOCATION: This position is located at our Bowmanville, Ontario Cement Plant.Summary/Job Scope:The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the electrical maintenance team and ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all electrical systems and equipment within the cement plant. This includes supervising repairs, preventive and predictive maintenance, and supporting plant operations through technical expertise and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate the activities of electrical technicians and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to high, medium, and low voltage systems, PLCs, drives, motors, and control systems.
- Maintain and update documentation for electrical systems, including schematics and maintenance records.
- Collaborate with other departments to support production goals and minimize downtime.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance equipment reliability and energy efficiency.
- Manage inventory of electrical spare parts and requisition materials as needed.
- Train and mentor team members on safety practices and technical procedures.
- Participate in shutdown planning and execution, ensuring timely completion of electrical tasks.
- Ensures the safety of themselves and all colleagues through enforcing safe work practices and providing motivation and effective communication.

Qualifications:- University Degree or College Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Licensed Industrial Electrician (442A) or Construction and Maintenance Electrician (309A) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical maintenance, or a similar field, preferably in the cement or heavy industrial sector.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, motor control systems, DCS, and electrical safety standards.
- Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP PM) and maintenance planning.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, inspection equipment, and maintenance software.
- Intermediate to Advance computer skills; ability to utilize MS Office, SAP PM, Kronos, and other relevant software and programs pertaining to the role.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and make informed decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in conducting inspections and documenting findings.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
Working Conditions:- Industrial plant environment with exposure to dust, noise, and high temperatures.
- Requires physical activity including walking, climbing, and lifting.
- May involve occasional weekend or evening work during shutdowns or emergencies.
Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000 per annum
Note: This role is applicable to a day schedule (Monday - Friday, 8am -4pm), with overtime and participation in the On-Call rotation. Some weekend work may be required.
