  • Develops or reviews contractor plans, refining activities and discipline.

What role you will play on our team

The Electrical Maintenance Specialist provides oversight (inspection) and support for power line maintenance. This position follows Safety and Construction Management Systems are an integral part of the Electrical Maintenance Technician's responsibility. PSMS (Personnel Safety Management System) and construction documents and procedures will be used to effectively manage Safety and field activity.

What you will do

Drawings/Standards - Interprets detail drawings, Master Flow Diagrams. Conceives the construction effort and logic required to construct the facilities & ensures constructability.

Mechanical Construction - Understands application of typical methods used for civil, structural, IC&E & piping construction. Also understands safest methods for executing these tasks.

Inspection - Understands codes, methods & the work required to prepare for inspection.

Lift Plans - Participates in the review & development of lift plans and ensures that lift plan requirements are followed.

Project Implementation - Understands and follows applicable Construction processes and OIMS requirements for construction of a project from (DB) Design Basis to turnover.

PSSR - Able to guide/participate in the PSSR review and develop the required paperwork to meet construction processes and Management of Change requirements.

Planning - Capable of developing a plan or reviewing a contractor's plan & refining the associated activities and discipline.

Safety - Through knowledge and understanding of - ExxonMobil Safety Standards including but not limited to scaffolding, excavations, heavy equipment operations, cranes, rigging, concrete work, structural steel erection, welding, civil work, I/E, safety observations. and development of Construction Execution Plans. Understanding of pre-task briefings, Start work check, LSRA's (Life Saving Rules & Actions) and LMRA's (Last Minute Risk Assessment)

About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience as an electrical power systems supporting medium and/or high voltage equipment in the oil & gas, utility, mining, or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong analytical skills including understanding of power system concepts such as load flow, voltage regulation, harmonics, protective relay coordination, etc.
  • Selection & specification of electrical systems and equipment such as transformers, switchgear, reclosers, protective relays, HV/MV


Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • Knowledgeable of ERCOT and/or SPP grid design, operation and capabilities
  • Leadership roles in operational or technical organizations with focus on electrical design, projects, or reliability
  • Field based construction and/or operations experience
  • Experience in Permian based oil & gas operations
