Project Overview:Bechtel has been selected to partner on the design and construction of Poland's first nuclear power plant at the Lubiatowo-Kopalino site in Pomerania. In partnership with Westinghouse Electric Company and Polish utility Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe, Bechtel will deliver three AP1000® reactors for its inaugural nuclear energy program.
Bechtel will perform the Engineering, Procurement and Construction activities to construct 3 AP1000® units at the Lubiatowo-Kopalino site. Using once-through cooling to and from the Baltic Sea, the design uses a simplified and innovative approach to safety. Bechtel's recent completion of two AP1000's® at Plant Vogtle has set the stage for the deployment of this proven technology in Europe.

Job Summary:In this role, you will provide knowledge, expertise, input, training, and consultative support for a discipline or process required for facility commissioning and startup. You will participate in work planning and packaging, turnover coordination, material management and quantities, quality control, and environmental safety and health. You will be an essential resource for specialized technical advice. #LI-EH1
Major Responsibilities:Specialization & Expertise
- Provides knowledge and expertise in a particular discipline, subject matter, or specialized process required for CSU (e.g., chemical cleaning, steam & air blowing, meter and relay testing, process operations, nuclear HVAC systems, complex analytical instrumentation such as CEMS, ICs, etc.
Work Planning & Packaging
- Analyzes assigned activities to determine the scope, time, and resource requirements
- Plans and schedules CSU execution activities including sequence and resource requirements for assigned areas of responsibility typically including complex evolution across multiple disciplines and functions
Turnover Coordination
- Participates in Construction to CSU turnover walkdowns for assign areas of responsibility
- Interfaces with the Field Engineer as required to support component/system turnover
Material Mgmt. & Quantities
- Initiates requisitions for field purchases and prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment
- Tracks field purchases and other purchases required for CSU using procurement systems or other database programs as required
Quality Control
- Assists other Start Specialists in interpreting design information, specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements
- Performs and/or monitors testing of equipment to assure conformance with specifications and compliance with test procedures, that work methods are undertaken safely and activities are supported to meet schedule and cost
ES&H
- Identifies and resolves/elevates ES&H issues in the field and is a visible 'walk the talk' leader in good ES&H practices
Education and Experience Requirements:- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:- Technical knowledge of startup, operation, maintenance, or testing.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering systems, applications of startup and operations and basic knowledge of application of computers to engineering problems.
- Broad knowledge of precedents in the startup or operations area and a good knowledge of principles and practices of related areas.
- Strong knowledge of industry or regulatory electrical standards and design criteria pertinent to plant or equipment operations.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
