The Electrical GIS Analyst creates Geographic Information System (GIS) for electric distribution system, utilizing industry leading software programs. Responsible for developing map views and layouts. The Electrical GIS Analyst will perform basic level GIS network and spatial analysis. Maintain or improve links to other software packages such as needed to maximize reliability, efficiency, safety, and system performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain Automated Mapping/Facilities Management/Geographical Information Systems (AM/FM/GIS); including links to Outage Management System (OMS), automated field engineering and staking, Gopher State One Call, SCADA, and other systems. Obtain information from various counties, municipalities, and other government agencies.
- Modifies existing GIS systems and adapting new hardware and technology to support program performance. Makes regular updates to base map data and related GIS products. Analyzes software and network requirements to determine design feasibility.
- Support the mapping portion of the construction work plans, long-range plans, sectionalizing studies, borrower's environmental reports and other related studies or design work. To include AutoCAD for design specifications and other distribution grid needs.
- Work with software and hardware vendors to resolve issues and continually improve performance.
- Other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering/Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Knowledge of GIS Platforms, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD and ESRI software suite including ArcGIS.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of NISC Enterprise Software
- Electrical background
Schedule/Location:
On-site at our office location in Jordan, MN.
Pay and Benefits:
Pay Range: $78,531 - $84,000/annually
Pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and education.
