Overview

Axia Electric, is seeking a highly talented Electrical Field Engineer based in Seattle, WA to support the execution of electrical scopes for the Port of Seattle Project. This project delivers new electrical infrastructure and substations to provide shore power, installing and commissioning feeders, conduits, and outlets while maintaining full terminal operations throughout construction.

 

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performing assignments that require the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria’s to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Exercising judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Preparing engineering related calculations and developing drawings and visual aids.
  • Assisting with field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used.
  • Assisting with construction administration and documentation of deficiencies and deviations from plans.
  • Working under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
  • Researching and compiling project information for reporting, marketing, and funding requests.
  • Creating and maintaining centralized files for project records (including digital).
  • Coordinating logistics and meetings for project managers.
  • Helping in the preparation of reports, including monthly development reports.
  • Assisting with community outreach duties as needed.
  • Attending neighborhood, community, and project meetings.
  • Undertaking tasks as may be assigned by project managers.
  • Having a clear understanding of the budget and assist in the creation of and adherence to project and development budgets.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Prior internships involving Rail, Transit, and/or Water/Wastewater construction projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders.
  • Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.

 Additional Information:

The salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $95,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
