Project Overview:

Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located at State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-BH1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports the lead discipline engineer in coordinating the technical resolution and ensuring compliance with design drawings, specifications, standard installation details, and local/national regulatory safety codes
  • Supports and coordinates across disciplines and with Engineering to provide timely and accurate information for the Construction teams.
  • Verifies compliance with Permit and License requirements
  • Performs field verification of installed commodities.
  • Issue punch list for deficient or defective works.
  • Generate and verify punch list items, generate and disposition Non-Conformance Reports, verify upon completion.
  • Assist construction team with interpretation of design drawings and standard installation details.
  • Interface with Resident Engineering function for any clarification, raise Field Change Documents as needed.
  • Ensure all materials and equipment on the site fully comply with international standard and technical specification requirements
  • Perform internal discipline walkdowns to support system turnover, and final turnover walkdowns with CSU and / or Client.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with the NEC.
  • Experience with NETA.
  • Experience with electrical safety practices including lockout/tagout.
  • Experience with energizing electrical systems rated 600V and below.
  • Experience with energizing medium voltage systems.
  • Ability to read one-line and three-line diagrams and familiarity with relay settings.
  • Experience working on the U.S. Gulf Coast is preferred.
  • Ability to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).


Additional Information Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.). Must be willing to work a flexible schedule if required that may include but not limited to nightshift or split shift.
