Full Job Description
Samsung Biologics is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support a commercial biopharmaceutical manufacturing site operating under GMP and applicable electrical standards in Rockville, MD. This role serves as a technical resource for the design, installation, qualification, maintenance, and continuous improvement of facility, utility, and process electrical systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Execute electrical projects as assigned to meet technical, budget and schedule goals.
  • Participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new equipment or modifications to existing systems with consideration to new processing technologies or strategies. This may include assessing an economic, electrical, environmental, quality, or productivity impact while generating engineering reports.
  • Use OE Tools to gather and analyze data on equipment/facility service problems in order to identify the root cause of the problem and generate possible solutions to equipment/electrical service problems based upon the facts gathered and generating measurable improvements.
  • Lead investigations and recommend solutions with key customer groups in order to improve repair or modification plans.
  • Develop a project plan and budget, and then implement the approved modifications, following up to ensure the desired result has been achieved. Document plans and modifications in an appropriate manner. Capable to utilize project management tools such as MS Project, etc.
  • Provide training to staff involved in the use or maintenance of electrical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Prepare or review operation, safety and maintenance procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support validation staff in the development of validation strategies and testing plans; assess and recommend solutions for validation protocol deviations.
  • Delegate project duties within the department or value stream team and understand the execution of those duties. Supervise the activities of contractors.
  • Evaluate any identified EHS risks, for which assistance is needed in order to mitigate, through tiered accountability.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of electrical engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of NEC codes, electrical standards, and GMP requirements.
  • Experience with electrical systems supporting utilities and process equipment (e.g., power distribution, controls, automation interfaces).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience managing or supporting capital projects.
  • Proficiency with technical documentation and basic project management tools.


The anticipated salary range for this position in Maryland is $93,000 to $124,300 plus annual bonus, when eligible. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc.
