Job Summary

We have an exciting career opportunity for an Electrical Engineer - Product Design in the Electrical Engineering Department located in San Diego, CA (Poway, CA). This position supports the design and development of advanced electrical components, equipment and systems for unmanned air vehicles. Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Applies technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned engineering problems.
  • Performs functional testing and troubleshooting of equipment and systems in assigned area by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.
  • Supports operation of production test by evaluating and interpreting needs and problems and develops effective approaches to resolving those issues.
  • Familiar with electronic schematics and associated CAD tools.
  • Obtains and analyzes test data.
  • Develops appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions.
  • May be required to make brief technical presentations.
  • May provide direction to design and/or technical staff.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelors degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Must have an understanding of software programming principles, and theory, LabVIEW experience is a plus.
    Must have a general understanding of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
  • Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work extended hours as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of circuits, including power and control circuits.
  • Knowledge in Electronic hardware design and assembly of PWAs.
  • Familiar with Production processes and testing.
  • Avid Learner: Passion for continuous learning and able to effectively communicate technology-oriented concepts.
