Role :Electrical Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a Test & Validation Engineer to support the development and field testing of autonomous haul trucks and drilling systems in a mining-like environment. This role focuses on executing system-level testing, diagnosing complex issues across mechanical, electrical, and software domains, and contributing to the improvement of autonomous vehicle performance through structured test planning and data-driven analysis.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related accredited discipline; or equivalent hands-on experience in testing or development of control systems, vehicles, engines, or autonomy technologies
- Internship experience may be considered equivalent to professional experience
- Master's degree preferred and may reduce required years of experience
- Experience requirements:
- Bachelor's degree: 7-8 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree: 5 years of relevant experience
- Prior experience in vehicle testing, validation, or field operations
- Experience working with heavy equipment or large-scale industrial machinery preferred
Required Skills
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills across complex integrated systems
Preferred Technical Skills
- Experience with Ubuntu/Linux operating systems
- Ability to create, maintain, and execute structured test plans
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Exposure to autonomous systems including perception, planning, and localization concepts

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and execute test and development plans for autonomous haul truck systems
- Conduct field testing on autonomous drilling and haulage equipment
- Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to assess system performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues in autonomous systems
- Document issues, test results, and findings in a clear and structured manner
- Prepare detailed test reports and provide actionable engineering recommendations
- Operate in remote proving ground environments under challenging conditions
- Work in hot, dry, and dusty environments similar to mining operations
- Safely climb on and off large machinery while carrying required equipment (physical capability requirement)
